The Fabric of the Universe.

'The Universe cannot be read until we have learned the language and become familiar with the characters in which it is written.'

Galileo Galilei

Science theory has a strange and beautiful language of its own. It is not always accessible, but I have read some theories that have been amusing and inspirational. Complicated ideas that describe the universe, and however it came to be, create visions that as an artist I feel compelled to illustrate through my practice.

I use ordinary and every day media, and found objects to create physical representations of my concepts, inspired by the strange and poetical language of science theory. The processes involved in my work are as important as the finished piece for they are often meditative, which allows time for personal reflection and inspiration.

In searching for an all inclusive answer to the myth of creation, I am struck by notions of interconnection. That we are not only made of the same thing, but possibly we all are the same thing. This phenomenon is essential to my practice.
